Life Journey Canada Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) handles the personal information of inquirers, prospective applicants, applicants, and others (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Applicants, etc.”) in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and other relevant laws in the operation of our study abroad support services and other businesses. The Company has established provisions related to the handling of personal information in Chapter 7 of the “Study Abroad Support Terms and Conditions.”

  1. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information
    The Company acquires personal information through legal and fair means and uses it only to the extent necessary for the execution of its business within the scope of the purposes stated in the following section. When the Company shares personal information with third parties or outsources its handling to third parties, it conducts a strict investigation of such third parties and provides appropriate supervision to ensure confidentiality.
  2. Purpose of Using Personal Information
    Except as permitted by law, the Company uses personal information only within the scope of the following purposes and any separately notified or publicly disclosed purposes:
    (1) To determine whether to conclude a study abroad support contract, etc.
    (2) To conclude, execute, and provide after-sales services for study abroad support contracts, etc.
    (3) To provide information and introductions to services provided by the Company that are deemed advantageous or useful to customers.
    (4) To improve the quality of services provided by the Company.
    (5) To confirm, respond to, or otherwise address opinions, requests, or consultations.
    (6) To respond to inquiries from educational institutions or accommodations.
    (7) To perform tasks incidental to the above purposes.
  3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
    The Company does not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from the individual, except in the following cases:
    (1) When required by law.
    (2) When it is necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and obtaining consent is difficult.
    (3) When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and obtaining consent is difficult.
    (4) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body or its designee in executing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining consent may impede the execution of those duties.
    (5) When it is reasonably necessary to disclose personal information to those who are legally obligated to maintain confidentiality.
    (6) When personal information is provided to educational institutions, accommodations, other organizations, Applicants, or related parties to achieve the purposes stated above.
    (7) When the Company outsources the handling of personal information, in whole or in part, to the extent necessary to achieve the intended purposes.
    (8) When personal information is provided to a successor organization due to a merger or other business transfer.
  4. Management of Personal Information
    The Company takes appropriate information security measures, such as measures against unauthorized access and computer viruses, to prevent the loss, destruction, alteration, damage, or leakage of personal information and implements appropriate safety measures within a reasonable scope. When outsourcing the handling of personal information, in whole or in part, to an external party, the Company provides necessary and appropriate supervision to the entrusted party.
  5. Inquiries, Disclosure, Changes, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information
    Upon receiving a request from an individual regarding their personal information held by the Company for inquiry, disclosure, changes, suspension of use, deletion, etc., the Company will confirm that the request is from the individual and respond in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law. Please note that if personal information is changed, suspended, or deleted as requested, the Company’s services may no longer be available.
  6. Organization and System
    The Company appoints a Personal Information Protection Manager and implements appropriate management of personal information. Additionally, the Company provides training to its officers and employees on the protection and proper management of personal information to ensure appropriate handling in daily operations. Furthermore, the Company complies with laws, regulations, and internal rules related to personal information protection and will continuously review and improve its internal rules and systems as necessary.
  7. Use of the Company’s Website
    (1) In the event of any issues such as personal information leakage on the website operated by the Company (hereinafter referred to as “the Website”), the Company will promptly notify the individual concerned and take appropriate measures, such as temporarily suspending services on the Website until safety is ensured.
    (2) The Website is operated and managed by the Company and is intended to provide information about study abroad and related services to customers.
    (3) Access to and use of the Website by customers and the Company is governed by the laws of Canada.
    (4) Use of the Website is voluntary, and any use is the responsibility of the customer.
    (5) The Website may introduce third-party websites (hereinafter referred to as “Third-Party Sites”) that are operated by other companies to provide useful information and services to customers. The Company is not involved in the operation and management of Third-Party Sites. The Company is not responsible for the use of Third-Party Sites or the handling of personal information by third parties.
    (6) If customers publicly disclose their personal information on the Website or register it in services accessible to third parties, their personal information may be used by third parties for unintended purposes, so customers are advised to exercise caution.
    (7) The Website uses cookies, a technology that temporarily stores specific information as data on the customer’s communication device and identifies the customer based on this data during each connection. The Company provides services based on the use of cookies. If cookies are not allowed, some of the Company’s services may not be available.
